I once attended a wedding of a couple, where she was a working photographer - not to mention, that half of the guests were photogs as well.

They didn't ask anyone to take photos, but a lot of the friends offered to cover the wedding.

They came up with a lovely solution: every interested photog got a "part" of the whole day.
#1 covered the dress up
#2 covered the marital office part with only close family
#3 shot available light inside the church
#4 was waiting outside, covering the coach
#5 did the party
#6 did the "official" shots

They ended up with a wonderful mixture that covered the whole day and was fun for everyone attending.
