Re: Great Gable - just trying it out with an old favourite :)

Hello? Am I reading this correctly?
If you can't be bothered, then clearly you don't care how your shots are seen on the web. That is the only conclusion that I can come to. I know that you like a darker background. You CAN be bothered to use your ASPH lenses, then can't be bothered to put a darker grey frame round the images, yet consider that they look better when they are shown that way? Why?
Sorry to sound so harsh. ASPH lenses cost thousands of dollars, grey frames cost nothing. Of course you have the software - even "Paint", the freebie app with Windows could do this for you if you wanted to.
You could do this with Photoshop (use the "Stroke" function in the Edit menu)
Even if you choose to stick with PSE and your PC, all you need to do is create a new image, larger than your shot, and fill the layer with 50% grey. Then, paste your image onto the grey background. So, if you have a 700 x 600 image, make a 750 x 650 grey background and paste the shot on the top. Then, flatten the image before making the final jpg.
You don't need to buy full PS if you don't want (although, I think that you would benefit if you did)
This frame was done with the software that I use to put my website together. It's freeware and Mac only.
