As of now Looking for a used digilux 3 if anyone has any leads btw...

Justifying the price of a Leica Camera, IMHO, is not the best reason for deciding to actually buy one.
There is a certain level of quality to be expected in both the image and the construction of the camera not to mention the warranty as well.
Leica is expensive. There are no two ways about it.
No matter how many times you click your ruby slippers together the black Panasonic L1 will never turn into a Leica camera. Period. Too many differences. I don't care who makes the camera if it says Leica Germany on it. What I do care about is the design, engineering, image quality, warranty and backing that goes with it,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Panasonic L1. It takes great pictures the same as the Leica Digilux 3. The pictures are just different.
I own both brands as well as Olympus and Kodak. I like all four for different reasons.
I bought a name and reputation and warranty as well as image quality and design when I bought the Leica.
