I have the D2, an L1 and a Nikon D80... First of all if you have plans to buy a used Leica D2 you better make sure it has the upgraded sensor, if not don't buy it because it is going to die any day now. The L1 produces wonderful images but the handling and the feel has nothing to do with the M feel of the D2, is much like a Nikon or Canon in that respect, specially with the huge lenses. I used to have a Canon but the plastiky feeling makes me sold it quickly.

It all depends on what makes you happy :-)
