Digilux 2 is a classic and can do 90% of the photography one would want, silent and light as well. And extremely nice JPG's straight out of the camera.

Only thing is the small sensor that mean you will have a hard time creating DOF with the Digilux 2, whereas a dSLR behaves like SLR and DOF comes with the territory.

Another issue is the low ISO, but that is compensated for by the fact that you can shoot the Leica Digilux 2 as a Leica M, meaning you can shoot as low as 1/8 or 1/15.and still have a good grip on the camera.

As for the Digilux 3 I have no personal experience. I see many very happy with it, but also many who prefer their Digilux 2 for their Digilux 3 after a while. Mainly weight, size and silence, I think.

One last thing: Pick your camera with the hearth. Pick the one you like the most and would love to take out for photographing. All the technical stuff is hype and no matter what technology, you are the photographer, not the camera.
