I have shot a lot in the city -- not in color, but I have found TriX to be great for BW and you really need the speed in the city for overcast days and dusk shots (and interiors). There's a lot of great action later in the day in NYC and you'll benefit from a fast film. So, try a couple rolls of Provia 400.
