Re: Anyone use a Luigi case for their Leica?
I have so far bought four Luigi cases, for an M3, Digilux2, and 2 SL2's. I also have two à la carte cases recently purchased for my à la carte MP and M6J, which by comparison are little short of low-end junk-the top half's leather splitting at the fold after less than 6 months' light use!
If Leica wish to continue selling cases, they should return to the higher quality which was present in the 1980's and 90's, or else enter into an agreement with someone like Luigi to make these for them. Their current offerings, I cannot say strongly enough, are just not up to scratch.
Luigi will also offer the required flexibility to ensure that his customers end up getting exactly what they want, and so far, his cases, some almost 3 years old, show no wear, and retain a nicer and more tactile feel and smell. The only point where the Leica design (NOT execution, however) is superior, is in the thumbgrip of the M cases (or at least the à la carte ones).
