Your Contax is from 1937. The letter indicates a batch of 99.999 cameras (of the whole Zeiss Ikon production).

If it has a photometer, it is a Contax III. If not, it is a II.

A great camera, nice to use, excellent results. Mine is a II, from 1937 too.

The machinism is very very complex. Not many repaimen like to work in them.
