Thanks for the idea but sadly it is not going to work for me. My 12575 hood is absolutely smooth matte black paint inside with no ridges or soft lining. I don't think that the tabs of the cap will grip. What I am thinking of doing is using the cap off my 75 Summarit and modifying it as I described above. The 75 Summarit cap, the one supplied with the optional lens hood, is totally useless on the Summarit and falls off every time you take it out of the bag, if you have reversed the hood on the lens for space requirements. I will then see if I can find a nice tight fitting plastic hood for the Summarit.
