I can't speak for Wilson, but what I want is to be able to use my existing collection of 39mm filters on EACH and ALL of my 39mm lenses (summicrons, elmarit, ultron, apo-lanthar, and the SNHOO-equpped summitar, etc.). The SNHOO allows me to do that.
And on the Summitar, I have the added benefit of also being able to use an inexpensive screw-in hood attached to either the filter or directly to the SNHOO.

The problem with the SNHOO adapter is it's almost impossible to find. Since I already have a nice collection of Summitar filters, using my 39mm's isn't an issue. I also find that the Summicron 12585 hood locks in between the filter and the lens.
I know Wilson has been looking for an adapter for awhile now. Good luck to both of you.
