Can you date the 50mm 3.5 Elmar's by their serial number?
I dunno if I will win this Elmar, but I put down what I thought it was worth to me.
I was attracted by a post-war 50mm f2.8, although it has the virtue of being genuine Leitz it was not quite 'right'. I thought it would be nice to have one piece of glass that was original.
If I feel the need for a faster lens I will have a FSU Jupiter 8 re-shimmed.
