Billingham make a range of little pouches that are good for smaller cameras although they are mainly designed for bits and pieces - with some pouches specifically designed to give added gear space to their bigger bags by hanging off the outside. Here is a link to the page of a US distributor.

I like the airline pouches but some of the pockets work well to and have tabs to hang off your belt or you can buy a shoulder strap to hang it there.
These little pouches are waterproof, give good protection and really look the part. They are reasonably priced too. (For Billingham gear that is.)
