Keep in mind that the sensors for M8/DMR have a cropping factor of 1.33 so given the same pixel pitch, they can only be matched by a FF sensor of 18.22 MP in theory.
Leica already beat the D3 more than 2 years ago and they can only do better from now on ... so why bother with these Nikons?
If you're in the Nikon camp, then you should go for the D300 instead of the D3 ... again in theory, the D300 sensor should have an equivalent resolution of a 28.125MP FF sensor given the same pixel pitch.
