wlaidlaw Posted February 6, 2013 Share #4541 Posted February 6, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) There is no transmission tunnel, so it has to be front wheel drive so none of the Fiats (600 Jolly etc). I was wondering about an DKW Cabriolet but from memory, when a friend used to keep his alongside my car in a lock up garage in Vevey, Switzerland, in the early 1960's, they had a more elaborate dashboard, with a rev counter. However my memory may be mixing up with the Auto Union Coupe he bought later. Vvvvvvvvt - put - put - put. Wilson
Advertisement Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Hi wlaidlaw, Take a look here Name this car..... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
J_Thompson Posted February 6, 2013 Share #4542 Posted February 6, 2013 Wilson, this vehicle was powered by an 1100cc four-stroke engine, later incrreased to 1200cc and is of front engine rear drive layout. So, it's not a DKW or any other two-stroke. There is a transmision tunnel, but due to the dark carpets and lighting, does not show in the photo. a.j.z Posted February 7, 2013 Share #4543 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) I am quite surprised about the result of my little (5 min) research but could this be a Skoda Felicia Cabrio? Edited February 7, 2013 by a.j.z
J_Thompson Posted February 7, 2013 Share #4544 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) Excellent sleuthing, Andreas. I was thinking that I was going to have to offer up a little more in the way of photographic hints but you nailed it! If not mistaken, I believe this is the first Skoda to appear in this thread. wlaidlaw Posted February 7, 2013 Share #4545 Posted February 7, 2013 Andreas, I wondered if it might be the earlier 450 model, as this was the one that started at 1089cc and then went to 1221cc. Wilson PS was posting when John said you had got it right.
a.j.z Posted February 7, 2013 Share #4546 Posted February 7, 2013 Thanks John, this was a nice one. I did not know that Skoda ever made such cars. I have to check if I find something here as I am traveling.

wlaidlaw Posted February 7, 2013 Share #4551 Posted February 7, 2013 Type B/C/D Auto Union GP - but only because they were designed by Dr. Porsche. I know where the photo was taken. Wilson
J_Thompson Posted February 8, 2013 Share #4552 Posted February 8, 2013 I'm going to take a different approach to Wilson's answer by going with a Cisitalia 360, as it was both designed and constructed by Ferdinand Porsche.

wlaidlaw Posted February 8, 2013 Share #4554 Posted February 8, 2013 This one should not be too taxing. Taken at the Geneva Motor Show in 2005. Wilson Welcome, dear visitor! J_Thompson Posted February 10, 2013 Share #4555 Posted February 10, 2013 Wilson is right, it is. type C. Cannot post the full picture now.Have you been there? No, Andreas, I have never been to the museum, but it seemed to be a reasonable guess for the very rare Cisitalia 360 to be included in a Porsche factory museum collection. Maybe someday I can see what is there with my own eyes.

wlaidlaw Posted February 10, 2013 Share #4557 Posted February 10, 2013 Bizarrini? Well done. This is the 2005 Iso Grifo GT Strada 4.1 (?Audi engine) which has been shown around at various shows. A number of friends race the older 5300 Corsa, which is very fast and handles well but you need asbestos legs, because the front bulkhead , which wraps round your legs becomes close to red hot. Your turn. Wilson Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! John, this is not a factory museum but a temporary exhibition at the Tabakfabrik in Linz, Austria.

wlaidlaw Posted February 12, 2013 Share #4560 Posted February 12, 2013 it's a Lucas PL headlight off a Jaguar XK 120 but very definitely on the wrong car. Looks as if a little restoration might be in order. Wilson
