I've checked on my R4 and instruction manual: no problem for yours, the led's go off immediately after you release the finger from the button. Tim and others are right but only for models after the R5, from that model (I also checked on my R6) the leds stay lighted for about ten seconds if the shutter is cocked. But this is not true for the models R4 and R4s, so don't worry about it, your R4 is functioning well.
