Yes, the f:3.4/21mm Super Angulon can be used without restrictions on any M Leica, which does not have a lightmeter. Complications arise only when you use the lens on the M5, M6, M7, MP (new), CL and M8.
- M5 and CL: Lens cannot be used unless its bayonet mount is modified not to raise the meter arm. This of course will mean that the meter will not work at all.
- M6, M7, MP (new), M8: Lens can be used, but the rear element will block the lightmeter path, resulting in an incorrect reading. There is a way to cut off a part of the rear element mount, but about a 1 stop adjustment will still be needed for accurate measurement.

interesting restriction the ones you're reporting about 21 and M8. In my mind I know that I'll save coins everyday in order to purchase it one day :-)
I like very much shot with wideangles. It's a pity that 35 mm wideangle appear less wide on a digital machine.
