Mike,

My M6 does have the Leica M6 inscription on the front and it is duly taped over..

It is also engraved as Ernst Leitz Wetzlar on the top plate. This indicates an early production M6, prior to the change in the company ownership.

I am going strictly by memory - all later Solms produced M6's dropped the Leica engraving from the front, keeping only the M6 designation.
