The road that runs along the Medoc, from Bordeaux through to the end, is one of my favourite drives anywhere.
The chateau at Cos D'Estournel is on my photographic "To Do" (again) list and one could easily spend a week wandering along the road, burning a lot of film
Leoville-Barton (made at its Chateau of Langoa-Barton) is a Second Growth St Julien. The proprietor, Anthony Barton, has always made the wines available at prices which, while not exactly cheap, are not at the stratospheric heights of other classified growths. It has been in his family since the 1830s.

We visited in the mid-nineties and had an excellent tour in the hands of a charming French guide. The contrast between the way that this wine is produced and promoted, when compared to a chateau, which we also went to on the same day just down the road, is remarkable.
