My criteria is simple 'I wish I had taken that'. Doesn't necessarily have to be technically perfect, subject/composition is more important to me.

Absolutly agree with you, Steve.
A great photo is the one I should want to have taken myself;
the one I really enjoy when I see it;
the one wich encourages me to do it better.
