SOme people do dispute this, but I'm inclined to believe it - they wouldn't make up a story complete with specified tolerances, so I thing they got it from the horse's mouth.

Interesting, I hadn't read that. I only read that the blue dot was responsible for average ttl flash and viewfinder information brightness.
