In regards to lens coding, has anybody asked Cosina or Zeiss if they would provide a coding conversion on their exisiting lenses?

A good percentage of the Cosina lenses are screw mounts. All Cosina would need to do for these lenses is to provide coded L39 to M mount adapters.
