    • I think going forward I'll skip noise reduction in ACR. And after finishing up any changes to the image I want in ACR, if I still feel there's some noise to be cleaned up, I'll bring it into photoshop where I can apply, and then mask out and reduce opacity as needed. And to your point, more and more I'll be embracing noise and perhaps leave it exactly as is for a more realistic image. It's taking me a minute to get over my bad post habits with Sony/Q3 images, but I'm getting there 😎
    • I didn't order from them, I am just on their list. So far I have gotten alerts three times from them. The most recent one I think was Monday, so that was probably the one you responded to 🙂 On import fee, the US surprisingly doesn't add any when products ship into the US. This is difficult to phantom for an European because in Denmark, as an example, the customs at the national post office will open an envelope if it seem to contain a product (despite laws on privacy), and certainly any boxes with goods in them, and evaluate the value and add what they feel are proper import tax (differs for category, cars are 180%, airplane parts are 3% and so on) + sales tax 25% and a fee of $20 or so for doing the work. (I had a drawing book I sent to my daughter from the US to Denmark, I paid Canadian $30 in an airport store, mailed it and the customs evaluated I she to pay somewhat $100 USD in tax of it to get it delivered - probably because it was a Chanel coloring book :-). So it was left at the post office). In any case, despite that there is sales tax in most states in the US, around 8-9% usually, not even that is added upon import. A big mystery to me. Nonetheless, it means that if you buy from Europe, they deduct local sales tax, and if the US adds nothing, you basically saved some hundred USD on importing from Europe. Shipping from one state to another there is sometimes sales tax to be added, at other times none. I have tried to get someone to explain the rules for me, and haven't found any reliable source who actually knew the written rules.  Leica, in some countries, have told Leica Stores they cannot export products by mail. You can buy in store and get VAT (sales tax) refunded in the airport, which is usually less returned than the actual sales tax you paid. In Japan the 10% sales tax is deducted in the store so you get the product at a net price (they used to put a note in your passport, but I think that is done electronically now), saving time in the airport as you don't have to be in a line. I Australia I've seen people stand 1-2 hours in line to get their sales tax refunded.  When you enter your home country where you live, you are supposed to tell the officer if you bring any goods to declare.
