    • I started Leica M system shooting in 2018, with the then-current Summilux-M 50mm ASPH, which should be the same version that you have/had. It remains my most “exciting,” and remains the one Leica M lens that I “absolutely love.” Inspired by the interview with Peter Karbe, in which he described having based the design of the APO Summicron-M 75mm ASPH upon the Summilux-M 50mm ASPH, I added the APO 75 about two years ago, and am still trying to decide how I feel about it. Achieving critical focus with the rangefinder is a challenge. I may grow to really love this one, but, well, not yet. I want to take it with me, on a solo road trip to some mountains. I hope to learn more, about the APO 75 ‘Cron, during that endeavor. Short telephoto is not so interesting, for landscapes, on this flat coastal plain/prairie, where we live. The compression effect of a telephoto should be more interesting when used in uneven terrain.  The 35mm M-mount lens that I have truly come to love is the Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/1.4 ZM. It has that “Zeiss Look” that is disliked by so many Leica shooters, but, I had already been acquainted with some VERY good Zeiss DSLR/SLR lenses, so, acquiring a modern Zeiss M-mount lens seemed perfectly normal. (Several of the Zeiss ZM lenses are film-era designs, whereas this Distagon was designed with high-resolution digital cameras in mind.) Notably, I like the bokeh of this Distagon more than that of its Leica FLE counterpart. The only Leica lens I have bought new, rather than pre-owned, is the “Re-Edition” Steel Rim Summilux-M 35mm, a very different 35mm lens from my Zeiss Distagon. Less optical correction, a “classic” rendering. “Busy” bokeh, rather than the smoothness of the Zeiss Distagon. This Summilux 35 is becoming much-loved.
    • Yes, it is a good idea. If I understand it right, you are proposing to print LCD cover together with horizontal plate to go under bottom plate, with small pin to capture the tripod socket hole. I was also thinking about similar way to keep LCD cover, but it is harder to print L shape. The way 3D FDM printer works - it is adding layer of material on top, so if "L" shaped part is standing up, bottom plate will be more durable and vertical panel is less durable and easier to break. Perhaps if I print that by placing "L" shaped plate on the side - that may work but plate walls will be thicker than 0.4mm. I'll experiment in that direction, thanks for keep following up on this idea.
    • Just as another point of reference, I had the same thing happen to the same strap on my M11-P earlier this month. I was holding the body when the strap broke, but my heart stopped for a moment. Leica replaced the strap under warranty (I told them I didn't want it, but replacement was the only option), but it will stay in its pouch with a note to never use it. I have a stash of the older-style nylon straps and switched to that style immediately after the break.

    • Hi everyone! It took me 3 days from looking for an SL3 to now getting a call that one is available for me. I had the same experience with the M11 when it first came out. I don't go to any large retailers. They are dealing with hundreds of people on their wait lists. I called every Leica store in the U.S. and put my name on the wait list. That was 3 days ago from writing this. I just got a call from Leica Los Angeles. They have one for me to pick up tomorrow. Amazingly enough they are close enough to drive to as I'm in San Diego. I had to have the M11 shipped from NYC. The main takeaway is, Leica stores are the way to go.
