    Jean

Jean is a Public Radio personality here in Wisconsin. I shot this portrait to accompany an interview with her.
  3. Even if it is brass, it is impossible to match by a lick of paint, which as said, will not stay on long-term. And as Charles said, not needed. The best solution will be to match the damage by wear from regular intensive use.
  4. yes, and indeed it is the Elmar. I am always surprised about that background.
  5. I’ve been missing more than 30 important images from the middle to the shoot. previews were all there at the shoot but the dng/jpg files are now missing when importing the images in Capture one or Lightroom. (I've tried both) it seems that the SL3 has somehow overwritten the files after changing the battery ….The foto’s from the beginning and the end of the shoot are all there. I switched off the camera when I replaced the battery singe shot mode and Im using the Sandisk Extreme pro memory card CFexpress 256gb
  6. This is my favorite thread on both the International and German sides of the Forum.
  7. And just think; that is the version after it received a second facelift!............ Philip.
LG
  9. Thanks Collapsed with the regular rear cap sounds like the best way.
  10. What is the benefit of sticking to 1/250 at an ISO limit vs letting the ISO go up (no ISO limit)? I know the disadvantage (EVF getting too dark to frame). The camera displays the shutter speed. That should be warning enough. It is good custom to always check metered values before taking an image.
  11. Having just checked the 50mm f2.8 Elmar in M mount has a tube which, when collapsed, projects 20mm from the rear surface of the lens-mount. The standard Leica rear cap (14379) only has an internal depth of 14.5mm so the lens, if collapsed, will not collapse fully. On the other hand the rear cap which I have for my 21mm f4.0 Super-Angulon has an internal depth of 27mm so the Elmar can be collapsed fully with this style of cap. One other factor to consider however; when the regular rear cap is used and the Elmar is collapsed as far as it will go then, with front cap fitted, the overall size is 45mm. With the 'deep' rear cap fitted the size (again with front cap) is 51mm so the most compact solution would be to use a regular rear cap and carry the lens collapsed. My preferred method (FWIW) is the latter mentioned. Philip.
  12. That's correct. A Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC
  13. Nobody claims that ISO 100 shot will have more DR than ISO 200 if you keep the exposure constant.
  14. You can enable this feature if you like in the settings in the R4 as long as you have the updated firmware (I have the R5). I did this for a friend in my area who has the R4. Happy to walk you through it if you like.
  15. I’ve been looking for a 28mm that has a rendering like an old 35 Summaron or early Summicron, or my Super Angulon 3.4. I have not an opportunity to try an old Elmarit other than the v4, which I found a little modern for my taste. How is the v2 relative to the lenses I mentioned? Similar or is there a closer option?
  16. Exactly. It is also quite a bit older. Also the used market is more often frequented by price sensitive buyers, many of which are amateurs, and many of those do not have high resolution requirements. Also more likely to use high ISO than proper studio flash or location lighting etc. The SL2 is more of a niche buy at this juncture for that reason. I have both cameras but still prefer the SL2 about 80% of the time.
