  2. Post 4. Leica M4, 35mm Summicron v.3, Tri-X.
  3. I did post the video of the ‘play in the aperture ring’ to Leica and had this response. I have reviewed the video together with our technicians and they confirmed that this behaviour is normal for this lens. The Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 follows a classic product concept in order to preserve the special character and individuality of the lens. The top priority for our engineers was to come as close as possible to the original from 1961, with a barely changed vintage look and an identical optical design. Accordingly, mechanical tolerances can deviate from our modern and otherwise usual standards, but this does not mean any loss of quality or functional restrictions.
  4. I also wonder if these issues will in the long run reduce the value of M11s in the resale market. Who wants to take the risk of buying a used camera only to find out that it is defective. I've seen a few used ones on sale, and although the price is attractive, the risk to reward ratio makes it a non-starter.
  5. Planning our family vacation in Europe mostly Bavaria area. and wondered its worth taking the SL3 with eh beast of the lens 24-90 or just stick with the light weight Q3. Any tips suggestions as seems a lot of photo opportunity in Bavaria. Would I compromise a lot with the Q3 quality wise or would the SL3 with the 24-90 be heavy equipment to carry for a 10 day non stop trip.
  6. Hat die Q3 auch einen eingebauten ND Filter?

  8. 75mm APO Summicron-SL. Should have used 1/250, but I still like the image.

  10. Don’t know about Australia, but some US insurance companies provide separate riders to home coverage, sometimes in the form of collections policies, which allow for individual item protection. Mine covers all circumstances outside warranty, worldwide and without deductible, not just when traveling. You might check if there are any similar options for you. Jeff

  13. If it works it is patently 😉 good enough for me the same way as it did on all my cameras in 10+ years.
  14. Once again, considering cameras 1/10, even 1/20th and 1/30th the cost of a Leica M11 format cards faultlessly in camera, there should be absolutely zero reason to have to turn to a third party software program. It's patently ridiculous. It was one thing to have to do battery resets with my M8, the first of a generation, totally another to do it with a body almost 20 years on and in its fifth or so generation. Leica need to figure this out before moving on to the M12, which is inevitably coming as they shill M11 variants. It would be interesting to hear from a user(s) if they essentially set up their M11 like it was an M6 and if they still have issues i.e. no profiles, high speed shooting, lens recognition off, EVF off, auto this or that off etc etc. Just bare bones manual aperture shutter speed and iso to see if they still have these freezing, lost DNG issues. IMO it's a race condition, either due to faulty firmware, hardware, or a combo. Some may experience it, some may not, but it's there.
  15. Wow, ein echter Blütentraum!
  16. Du legst hier aber ein ganz schönes Tempo vor, Hut ab! Sehr interessante Fotostrecken habt ihr hier eingestellt. Dafür schon mal meinen Dank an @lxsa und an @Lightwrangler
  17. Sorry to hear that. Have you tried turning the new dust protection feature off? I also reformatted my card (again) with SD Formatter just in case. I haven’t tried high speed shooting.
  18. Leute bitte schreibt zu euren Bildern mit was Ihr sie fotografiert habt.

    M11 to M11p?

I have the opportunity to exchange one of my two M11s with firmware 2.0.2 for a new M11p with the PREVIOUS firmware for an additional payment of €2500. Do you think I should take advantage of this opportunity? (I don’t need cryptographic protection of files, I don’t need sapphire glass either, I don’t see any fundamental difference in the appearance of the cameras either. I see only 256 GB of built-in memory and OLD firmware as advantages)
  20. No. But we are talking high ISO and above 800 it was ugly.
  21. Even jpgs need corrections and occasionally cropping. LR thus.
  22. As already suggested, rental is easy here if you can’t access dealer demos. Jeff
